Student Involvement and Enrichment Opportunities

Enrich your college learning experience by getting involved on campus or in the community. AVÀÇ has many opportunities for you to meet people and be part of campus life. Choose from more than 90 academic athletic, Greek, honor, religious, recreational, student government, and cultural clubs and organizations. Student government, service to the community and leadership groups provide ways for you to get involved and make a difference.

The Transfer Student Alliance (TSA) seeks to serve as a collaborator for all AVÀÇ transfers students. Transfers include: currently enrolled students, incoming students [from community colleges, 4-year institutions, and private universities], returning students, and alumni. The TSA's main purpose is to create a social space, community, and advocacy for all transfer students based on the transfer student experience at AVÀÇ.

Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) Associated Students Incorporated prioritizes students’ needs and advocates for them through lobbying. Lobbying is done through non-violent demonstrations at the federal, state system and campus level while ensuring students opinions are objectively heard in every decision affecting them. Associated Students, Incorporated also provides significant services such as funding, diverse programs and facilities that improve the holistic educational experience and also enabling students success.

Clubs and Organizations Student clubs and organizations help to enhance the quality of student life on campus. Student Life and Leadership Programs recognizes and assists nearly 100 student organizations active on the CSUEB Hayward Hills, Concord and Oakland Campuses. Peer Academic Coaches  Peer Academic Coaching are here to help you make your transition to CSU East Bay. College is a whole new world and sometimes it can be overwhelming and confusing. Coaches can help! Coaches work with students to support them in navigating their academics and college experience. Coaches are students, too so they get it and they're here to help you succeed! Pioneer Athletics AVÀÇ offers students all the excitement of competitive collegiate athletics in an environment unlike any other. Our 15 teams compete in the NCAA Division II against top teams in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) — one of the country’s most competitive conferences. Athletic scholarships, outstanding coaches, highly competitive play, and a gorgeous setting in the heart of the Bay Area attract top student-athlete talent.
Recreation and Wellness The RAW Center boasts 54,000 square feet of fitness, recreation, education, and administrative space complete with state-of-the-art equipment. In partnership with Health and Wellness Services, the RAW also hosts the Wellness Center, a health education resource for students. The RAW hosts a number of recreation programs including intramural sports, group exercise, and personal training. Currently enrolled CSUEB students may use the RAW Center at no additional cost. Smooth Transitions Smooth Transitions is solely devoted to assisting transfer students with transitioning into the campus smoothly as well as providing useful information to get them in, out, and ahead in their chosen field of study. Tau Sigma National Honor Society Tau Sigma is the National Honor Society exclusively for Transfer Students! This organization is designed to recognize and promote the academic excellence and involvement of transfer students at four-year universities. Tau Sigma
Transfer Living Learning Community

Incoming residential transfer students have the option to live in the Transfer Living Learning Community. Transfer students who select the single-occupancy living option will automatically be placed in this Living Learning Community on a first come, first serve basis. Residents of this community will receive specialized support and programming aimed at guiding and enhancing the transfer student experience.
