First Semester Guide for Transfer Students

Tool Introduction

The purpose of this guide is to help newly enrolled transfer students determine the computer science classes they need in their first semester. This tool is NOT a substitute for attending orientation or booking an appointment with a computer science advisor. However, this tool can be a helpful starting point, and we recommend using the tool prior to advising appointments.

Tool Limitations

The tool currently recognizes courses from nearby community colleges. Over time, we hope to update the tool to recognize courses we accept from other institutions as well. The tool currently recognizes courses for the following community colleges:

Lower Division Math & Science Course Requirements

Please enter the lower-division math and science courses you took at your Community College.

Calculus I (MATH 130)

Calculus II (MATH 131)

Linear Algebra (MATH 225)

Calculus-Based Physics (PHYS 135)

Note: This form only contains courses that already articulate with PHYS 135 at CSU East Bay. However, we generally accept any calculus-based physics course. If you took another calculus-based physics course that does not articulate with PHYS 135, please check with a CS advisor to confirm if your course will count towards your CS degree.
