For more than 60 years, AVÀÇ has served the Bay Area as part of the AVÀÇ system, providing access to higher education for a diverse student body and advancing regional engagement through its academic programs and leadership. Online Campus

In fall 2020, 94.85 percent of instruction was delivered through online or hybrid courses. In addition, every undergraduate and graduate student took at least one hybrid or online course, with 94.7 percent of students enrolled in courses exclusively online. See Online Campus.

Community Engagement

The Center for Community Engagement works to ensure all students have the chance to develop real-world skills by supporting programs that connect students with the community. Through courses and volunteer work, students support community issues such as economic development, education, food insecurity, health, housing security and sustainability. 

In 2019-20:

6,000 students enrolled in community engagement courses

150 students participated in the CCE’s Saturdays of Service program

Students volunteered 79,000 hours

Nursing students spent 1,600 hours supporting the East Bay’s regional response to COVID-19
