Hanna Khan

Bridging Innovation, Analytics, and Community Impact

Hanna Khan, an exceptional MSBA candidate at California State University, East Bay, is already making waves in the field of data analytics and AI-driven solutions. Her journey at CSUEB began with earning a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Corporate Management, where her passion for data-driven decision-making took root.

Hanna’s professional career is equally impressive. She is currently a BI Data Analyst at Ocean Source Technology and has previously worked as a Business Intelligence Analyst at Emagia and a BI Data Analyst at InnovatiC's. Through these roles, Hanna has honed her expertise in harnessing data to provide actionable insights, streamline operations, and drive strategic outcomes for businesses.

Her achievements go beyond academics and work experience. Hanna secured the 2nd runner-up in the prestigious 2024 TiE Global Hackathon’s Sustainability Track. Reflecting on her team's innovative AI-based solution, Hanna shared:

"We built a machine learning and computer vision solution that automates the sorting process based on PPE type, brand, and material. This solution tackles the core issues of effective segregation, contamination inspection, and process automation, all aimed at reducing human error, minimizing contamination, and cutting costs."

Her dedication to sustainability doesn’t stop there. As part of a sustainability committee at a community-based organization, Hanna is actively working on initiatives to reduce microplastic consumption. Recognizing the tremendous environmental and health risks posed by microplastics, she and her team developed an innovative mobile application that leverages machine learning (object detection and image classification) to separate organic waste from recyclables. This solution aims to minimize microplastic pollution, promoting both ecological and human health.

Beyond her technical achievements, Hanna is deeply committed to social impact. She volunteers at a local community clinic, where she is developing AI-driven communication tools to help bridge language barriers between doctors and patients. By making health information accessible in multiple languages, she is improving healthcare communication and patient outcomes in underserved communities.

With her combination of academic rigor, professional expertise, and community service, Hanna exemplifies the values and potential of CSUEB's MSBA program. She is a shining example of how innovative thinking and data-driven solutions can address real-world challenges and create meaningful change.

We are proud to celebrate Hanna’s achievements and look forward to seeing her continued impact in the field of business analytics and beyond!
